Newborn Session: Lyla Mae

Family

I was so excited when Moriah and Darren asked me to take their maternity photos and even MORE excited when they asked me to also take newborn photos of their little girl, Lyla Mae.

When I showed up to their house, Moriah was super apologetic about her house being messy (it wasn’t…you should see mine!) and for not having a house straight out of a magazine to take these photos in.

Side note – my mom is always telling me that life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. I even have that saying on a plaque as a daily reminder.

I told Moriah that there was literally zero reason for her to apologize or to feel insecure about her house. Their house was perfect as it was and we actually had great lighting and space to work with!

I could tell she was unsure, but after I delivered Lyla’s gallery she said “You did amazing with what you had to work with! You made me my house look good!!”

Anyway, this is just me making a point here – you do NOT need to clean your house for me. You don’t have to have Fixer Upper decor. You definitely don’t need to stress about what’s going on in your home when I come for newborn sessions!

Back to Lyla 🙂 She was the perfect newborn model for me. I got plenty of shots with her eyes wide open, some with her sleeping, yawning, and even a little grin.

This family is literally the sweetest, kindest family I’ve gotten to take photos of so far. I love when you walk into a room and can feel the love. It just makes taking photos so easy and effortless.

Even though their little guy didn’t want to take part in pictures, we still got a few good ones with him in it! And their little girl, Keona completely rocked the session which I totally expected since she loved the camera during the maternity photos too! Get it girl!
